The day after the bitter epilogue of the Del Monte® Italian Cup 2016 Final, Diatec Trentino observes a day of rest to recover part of the many energies spent during the weekend at the Mediolanum Forum and to try to immediately turn the page over the 0-3 suffered by DHL Modena.
"We are really sorry to have finished in that way our adventure in the event;” - said today Mitar Djuric, best scorer of Trentino in the Final Four with 36 points in two games played -”we would have liked to give to the fans, the staff, the whole company but also to ourselves a different game but it was not possible because the opponents tactically and technically played an excellent game, never allowing us to express our game. The stakes were high, both teams had different pressures but Modena has been able to handle them better and won deservedly. We never managed to reverse the trend, maybe we were discharged from the mental point of view after the battle won in the semifinals the day before but it is not appropriate to make excuses: we don’t want to. DHL Modena played better than us and won, I am convinced, however, that this defeat will make us grow as a team very well.”
“We are a young team, we don’t know well yet our limits and we shouldn’t set them” - continued the Greek hammer. -”In the weekend budget we must also remember what we did against Civitanova: it was a great match that showcased our potential. We must still improve a lot but our recent history shows that this training has always been able to collect the right directions to get back on and turn the page even after ugly knocks out. I am convinced that we will do so also this time and that, already from Thursday, we will offer a different performance. We still have two major goals, the league and the Champions League, let’s prepare to live an intense final season without being afraid of anyone. The road to success is long but absolutely feasible."
The resumption of the training on Tuesday morning in the weight room of PalaTrento with the first session of the mini run-up for the new challenge with Modena, this time scheduled at PalaPanini on Thursday, February 11th at 8:30 pm for the seventeenth day of Super League.
